24 Hour Comic Challenge (aftermatch)

Sat Oct 3, 2009, 7:11 AM
Hello there.

I regret to say that my run didn't end with a bang, but somewhat of a whimper.

During that time, I only managed to do 10 pages. I kinda feel I could have done more than that, but I believe many factors were involved, such as working on a 11" x 17" format (which frankly isn't an excuse, since one of the guys who finished all 24 pages worked on twice the size and in color), and the fact that while I had a good start, I pretty much started losing momentum as the day went by.

To be fair, about 30 people participated; only 6 did all 24 pages.

On the other hand, it kinda gave me a good retrospective of what I'm capable at the moment and gave me room to experiment; perhaps see what I'd have to do a next time in order to do better and what I can do with my regular work.

On Monday (or hopefully Sunday), I'll go scan the pages to show ya what I did.

Depending on the general reception of said pages, I might find time to finish the other 14 pages.

Anyway, dead tired, so heading to bed right now.

G'night.

24 Hour Comic Challenge

Thu Oct 1, 2009, 7:14 PM
As I'm writing this, I'm both nervous and excited at said challenge at SCAD Atlanta tomorrow at 10 AM. Link: [link]

There's gonna be some prizes involved, but I'm doing it mostly because of the experience.

I would document this if I could, but since I'll be busy as Hell that day (working on 24 pages of comics that is), the most I can say is that by Saturday afternoon I should post what I made during that day.

Until then, I'm gonna catch some rest, since I'll be needing it tomorrow...

See ya Saturday!

Dust: An Elysian Tail

Indie power once again flexes his mighty and underrated muscle!

I'll go straight to the point. This game is freaking gorgeous:

I'm already sold by the animation; from the looks of it, gameplay's gonna be awesome too and it's gonna be available soon on Xbox 360 as a download. (one more point for Xbox 360; sorry PS3!).

The main website also states that an animated film's on the works, and if the animation's as marvelous as the game, I SO want to check it out as well.

Ustream worn out its glitter really fast; it's likely to do when you realize it's just another outlet for popularity whoring.

I MIGHT run them still, but won't bother about freebies and that othe crap; got other things to worry anyway (school and job hunting among them).

That said...

Dragon going Live (hopefully)

Well, I recently discovered Ustream, and in hopes of becoming more active Art-wise, I decided to make a channel of my own:

Now, my current plans is to run it the times I'm at at SCAD (which should be on weekend nights; more than likely Saturdays) while working on something, 1 to 2 hours minimum, all night max. And I kinda want to keep it around PG-13, so for the love of God, don't ask (you know what I mean...).

Now, I do have the following questions that would help me do a successful "show":

- Will you be interested in watching in the first place?
- Other than randomly working on photoshop or similar, is there something in particular that you'd like me to do (sketches, how-to's, online commission/advicing in drawings, reviews on comics/other people's work/manga/movies, etc?).
- Would you like me to do an occassional Q&A session? With the webcam on?
- Would you want me to talk in said streams?
- Would you be willing to listen to the music that I listen? Or you'd prefer to rely on online radio?
- Any other suggestions?

All feedback will be appreciated.
